The CARES Act is a federal program with the purpose of assisting those impacted by Covid-19. Opportunities, Inc.’s service area covers the following 13 counties: Alfalfa, Beaver, Blaine, Cimarron, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Harper, Kingfisher, Major, Texas, Woods and Woodward. COVID-19 Relief Assistance

If you have been impacted by COVID-19 with the loss of job, reduced hours, health issues and expenses, uncontrolled expenses, or other negative impacts, CARES support could be available. You are only eligible if your total household income based on the household size is no greater than:

* This opportunity is available only to those households with incomes at or below 200% of poverty as defined by the US Department of Health & Human Services

Upon approval, you may receive assistance with your rent, utilities, prescriptions, and other expenses tied to the negative impact of COVID-19. Opportunities will pay no more than $1,000 per household for qualified expenses. Once the application is approved, it will take 5 business days to process the payment to the vendor on your behalf.

How It Works

To be approved, you must show your pay stubs from before, during, and after Covid-19. The stubs should indicate a loss of income, and you must also provide a letter from your employer stating that your employment loss was due to the pandemic.

All of the following are other documents you will need to provide after you submit the initial application:

  • Copy of driver’s license for all adults listed on the application.
  • Copy of social security card for every member of your household, including children.
  • Lease payment information (copy of lease agreement statment)
  • Current utility bills
  • Evidence of loss or change in income due to COVID-19
  • Notice of furlough or layoff; or
  • Self-statement of job or income loss
  • Proof of income before and after showing a reduction in income

Although multiple sources might be necessary to cover client’s expenses due to COVID-related job loss or medical hardship, client must not receive duplicative benefits over and above outstanding balances presented at the time of this application.

If you receive subsequent duplicative benefits (an amount over and above your stated current need) from other entities for requested need of Opportunities, Inc., you agree to repay Opportunities, Inc. the total amount received.
